St Augustin

St Augustin is an Asian fushion and wine restaurant on Garosugil.

I did not eat there but had wine and they are pretty generous with the pours. It is nice because whenever I order wine in Seoul it is always on the light side.

The inside of the restaurant is pretty and the waiters were nice. I wanted more cheese and they gave me a bowlful.

Sure the cheese was the cubed Laughing Cow kind (they love that cheese here, not sure why) but there is something very satisfying about cubed cheese that is basically just cream cheese.

Call me a fatty, whatever.

Recommended if you want western alcohol on Garsugil.

We went from Classy to Trashy

Should be the other way around but after the W hotel bar we decided to go to Gangnam, buy a bottle of soju, drink it near the subway exit (because you can drink in public here) and then go to NB to dance our rocks off.

Even though it is legal to drink in public here you never see native Koreans do it because ...well...its totally trashy. I think we amused a group of Korean businessmen with our antics. They were nice about it though and took pictures for us.

Killed this bottle in 7 minutes:

Ugh the girl behind us is so tall and skinny, I am such a heifer here.

Woobar at W Hotel

The W Hotel bar is one of the best spaces in Seoul. The only disadvantage is that it is out in the cut, far east side of Seoul. The Seoul W Hotel is the first W to open in Asia (suck it Japan!).

If you don't mind paying 20,000 for a drink (which isn't that bad considering how weak the won is these days...about $15 bucks a drink) it is definitely worth a stop.

The photo doesn't really do it justice:

Cool chairs but they lack lumbar support:

My boyfriend

Brian and I finally got asked today in public if we were dating. You may remember Brian from my previous blog posts, he is my coworker aka bestie aka only friend I like hanging out with in Seoul. Next time I get asked I am just going to go with it.

The hubby and me at Between in Itaewon. Between is fun and they have a very good looking crowd. I ordered a Grey Goose and tonic and the waitress thought Grey Goose was gin. Bless her heart!

Cafe Bar in 청담

Cheongdam is an area in Gangnam near Apkujeong. It has trendy restaurants and bars. Somehow I blacked out after this picture was taken. No bueno.

They called this a creme brulee. It had no creme nor bruleeing of any creme product.

Delicious Drinking Snacks

Seaweed laver with soy sauce, coffee peanuts, sweet doodles (? looked like cheese doodles but were sweet). Makes me wanna drink and drink and drink...

Itaewon

Itaewon is where the foreigners hang out. While the rooftop bar I went to was mostly white, the streets felt New Yorkerish due to the mixing of all different kinds of people. Also, rooftops bars are rarer here because people generally like to be pale and avoid the sun at all costs. It was a nice change.

This is where to go if you want a burger or vodka.

I found my home...

and I have superb taste (note the Macallen association).

I also drove past a Western Union type joint that would make a super rap name for me should I ever take that up as a hobby..."Joo Money" son!
