Watch This if Yous a Lil Wayne Fan

Finally saw the unreleased Lil Wayne documentary. The scenes with him recording are amazing.

I get upset about all the sizzurp he dranks. Lil Wayne is a national treasure, forget saving Lindsay Lohan, we need to save Weezy!

Lil Wayne

So fb knows I'm a little wayne fan and this question popped up on my feed:

"Can someone explain to me how Lil Wayne is considered a great artist?
He doesn't stay on topic, has no classics, did an alternative rap album(Rebirth) Lollipop & Bedrock were very bad songs..."

My personal thoughts:
Since when do rappers ever stay on topic really? and seriously you are judging him by Lollipop and Bedrock? Everyone knows his best songs are on unofficial mixtapes. Clearly this guy has never heard "Ride 4 My niggas" on Da Drought 3, "Bandana on the Right Side" from the Dwayne Michael Carter Diaries, "Cannon" from Dedication 2, and "Duffle Bag Boy" from The Best Rapper Alive Vol. 3.

After many may commenters listing the virtues of Lil Wayne, I see this gem:
"Whilst I agree with most everything the others have said above, mainly landon, I must add to the fact that the individual who posed this question just clearly doesn't know a thing about music... Making this thread irrelevant. Would you want to share personal feelings of a painting with a blind person? I didn't think so."

Dream

I had a dream I quit my job at Ogilvy to be a publicist for Cash Money records. Lil Wayne met and fell in love with me. He proposed to me with a 16 carat diamond ring in the shape of a bird to represent how I am Birdman Junior's.

I need to stop listening to Lil Wayne all day long.

New Lil Wayne

I haven't bought an album in 7 years but the new Lil Wayne album was impossible to illegally download. I had to start a new iTunes account, how 1998 am I?

I know this album came out awhile ago but I'm still listening to the DJ DOC album from this summer, mad behind.

Lil Wayne on Sports

Lil Wayne love sports. I love Lil Wayne. Therefore I feel a need to know Lil Wayne's thoughts on sports. I love his ESPN blog.

Answering some reader's questions:

Peter in Fresno: Wayne who do you think was a better scorer in his prime, Kobe or Michael?

Kobe. I'm going solely based on style points here, because both of those guys can pretty much score whenever they feel like it. Jordan hit you in the face but Kobe hits you right in the mouth. It's different. Jordan would take the layup sometimes, but Kobe's not going to do that. He's gonna dunk it on you right in front of your mom and your kids.

Michael in Chicago: What is your favorite thing to eat at a ballgame?

That is another great question. I always try to have some nachos, Michael. The nachos in New Orleans are so amazing I have literally missed the game because of 'em. But I don't eat jalapenos or anything too crazy like that because it's not good when you have to use the bathroom later. Also, I'm not sure if it was just because it was me or if the food across the whole stadium is this good, but shout out to the Rays for having the most amazing food at that playoff game I went to. That was more than just nachos, and I appreciate it. Shout out to you guys.

Lil Wayne, why is a goon nothing compared to a goblin? And are the raiders the Goons of the NFL and the Titans the Goblins?
Let's say you're a goon. Well, what's a goon to a goblin? Nothing. They're the same thing. So are the Raiders goons and the Titans the goblins? No, because the Titans are having an amazing year and the Raiders have been not so amazing. If you're going for a goons and goblins reference, I would say if you're calling Oakland goons I would use Jacksonville or St. Louis as goblins. Or if you want, to use the Titans as goons, the Giants would be your goblins. You gotta pick teams that are on the same page when you making that analogy.

This Song Makes me miss America and my White Girls

I have been listening to mad KPop on my Ipod but this song came on my shuffle the other day. I miss renting zip cars to drive to Central Park, the best part is rapping along to hip hop on full blast.

You would look foolish here (I only hear house music on full blast on cars).

Also, as much as I love DJ DOC and T.O.P, no one does hip hop like a black Americans (this includes Eminem). Let's be real.

Finally!

So whenever I bring up pop culture references in class, my students make me feel like a dinosaur because all I get are blank stares.

Has anyone seen E.T? (when trying to teach them 'alienation')
silence
O.J Simpson? (when trying to teach them 'acquit')
silence
Indiana Jones?
silence
Notorious BIG (when trying to teach them 'notorious')
SILENCE REALLY?!

Today I finally got something when I asked if anyone has heard of Lil Wayne. Some of my students were big fans and they got super excited. Further proof that Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive.
