Arcade Fire's Grammy Win

While I am happy Arcade Fire beat Eminem for Album of the Year, I feel that Funeral is far superior to The Suburbs and the Grammys is making up for years of not acknowledging them. Funeral should def have won them best new artist.

Funeral came out in 2004. So I am unsure if they would have been nominated in 2004 or 2005.

I looked up Best New Artist nominees in 2004 and 2005.

In 2004 Evanescence won and in 2005 Maroon 5 won. What a joke. And Arcade Fire didn't even get nominated.

Ugh, the Grammys suck anyways, people need to stop bugging out that Eminem didn't win. Also, how do so many people NOT know who Arcade Fire is, their album was number one on the charts when it came out. People need a clue.

Far East Movement

I finally listened to Like a G6 for the first time today. I realize this song came out 3 months ago, I am so out of the loop!

Their sound is dope. It made me wish I was an LA Korean. My parents live there, can I claim to be bicoastal now?

This would have been my anthem from 2006-2008.

Das Racist

I know Das Racist has been the buzz for a bit. Much media hype about "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell" but I really like this song.

Hot Enigma Beat.

Child of The Funk

Erykah Badu shared with NYMag the songs that made her a child of the funk. Great artist, great taste.

Her captions are great too, on Chaka Khan:
"Oh Chaka Khan, she is our queen. Anyone who sings soul and funk goes through the school of Chaka Khan. She has so many gorgeous songs but ‘Sweet Thang’ is the one — she sung that song from the vagina, from the bottom of her stomach, you can hear it all in her throat, she felt it."

Love this Song

Kinda emo, but I suppose I am kind of emo.

The strings are so pretty and the drums are interesting.

NB

I am going to a hip-hop club tonight. Worried I won't know any of the songs because I have no idea what is going on musically in the US. Good thing Korea is 4 months behind on everything.
