This is totally Boa's fault

So I slept through the craziest storm to hit S korea in 15 years (sue me I was on mad pain meds). I knew a typhoon was coming but when I woke up for 2 minutes from the sound of crashing trees, my drugged up mind brushed it off because I thought the storm was to come at 3 PM. oops.

12 year old: How do you say typhoon in english?
Me; Wel' it's typhoon but typhoon means the same thing as 'hurricane' which is more commonly used in the west.
12 year old: This is Boa's fault because we love that song Hurricane Venus. We should jail her.

My area only had a bunch of knocked off tree branches nothing major. Unfortunately, my aunt's apt windows broke and her car was mangled when she picked me up today. Some major damage in Korea today.

James J Lee

Was that guy Korean?

I am flat

and am OK with it. It is a self confidence booster living in a country where a C cup is weird not an A like yours truly.

Granted, boob jobs are becoming more and more popular here but it is OK to be super flat. Although I guess it is a give and take because I am considered chubby here. Girls are ridic thin.

Medical Advice

I went for a check up today for my finger. The hospital was jumping off due to the typhoon.

The dr tells me to squeeze my finger on occasion to help the chunk that is sewn on to 'stick' to the rest of my finger. Is that for real? Because you know, a good push definetely helps disattached skin reattach to your body.

Typhoon

Oh goody, there is a typhooon headed towards Seoul tomorrow ETA 3 PM. I am happy I finally decided to invest in rain boots this past weekend.

아저씨

I went to the movies by myself today to take my mind off the fact that my finger feels like it might spontaneously combust.

I watched 아저씨 (word for "older Man" or mister) starring 원빈 (Won Bin). I never was a 원빈 fan as a teen because he was such a pretty boy in his young 20's. Damn boy is all grown up now.
After seeing him play a mentally deficient person in Mother and now this, I am a big Won Bin fan.

The movie is about an ex-gangster whose little girl neighbor gets kidnapped by a gang. Pursuit ensues. The movie has amazing fight scenes (hand to hand combat because that is how Koreans roll). Once he obtains a gun (finally! thinks the American) halfway through the movie, it is ON.

It is so satisfying. The movie has been #1 here for the past 3 weeks and I highly recommend it.

I definitely saw the guy sitting next to me (also a loner) wipe away a few tears at the end. I almost laughed in his face.

In the 90's, way too pretty

Won Bin now

So I had my first visit to a Korean hospital today.

I went to move my fan (my ac is broken) and all of a sudden the fan part is bugging out. I think thats odd. Fan just broke randomly.

I then see a pool of blood at my feet. Hmm thats weird, look at my hand and a chunk of my finger is flapping off. Literally a chunk, I could see the inside of my finger. Somehow, my finger and the fan had an impromptu meeting.

I was skyping with Peter at this time and all he hears me say is "BABBEEEEE WHAT DO I DO???" He thinks I've slit my wrists at this point. I kept screaming from the bath room "What do I do????"

I'm bugging out because anyone that knows me know I freak out at the sight of blood, doesn't even have to be my own. You can imagine me at this point.

So this happened right after I woke up. So I went out in public with a baggy and bloodied Obama t shirt, pants that were unzipped and unbuttoned because I couldn't button with one hand, unbrushed teeth, the craziest hair, and a hand wrapped in 10 napkins soaked in blood. I looked like I went on a serial rampage.

Get to the hospital and it turns out Korean hospitals are amazing. I waited 3 minutes in the ER mind you (note that in the US people die waiting for their turn in the ER), they filled out my forms for me because my korean sucks, knew I had insurance from my visa # (no insurance card neccessary) and had me patched up in 45 minutes.

The dr says to me "your fingers are so small, we usually see fan accidents with 5 year olds". Um, thanks doc. I'm from the US where we use central air or ACs, who knew fans could be so deadly? If this happened to Hyemi (my friend with baby hands) she would have lost her entire finger.

I may or may not regain feeling in my finger, cross your fingers for me (pun intended).
