Booby Booby

Student: Teacher, Americans dance so weird
Me: Um, Koreans dance really weird
Student: Noooo teacher, Americans...what is the word...they grinding and stuff

When you grind up on someone, Koreans call that 'booby booby'. They have a name for it, but you never really see people in clubs booby booby here.

Different strokes for different folks. I find it funny when I see people in Korean clubs try to kick it to each other and yet still dance a foot away from each other.

Last night at NB, Brian and I did booby booby and the girls there looked at me like I was a prostitute. At one point these 2 girls were grilling me and in my belligerent state I told Brian I was going to shank them if they didn't stop looking at me. That was the cue to go eat twiggim (tempura) at the pojangmacha (food cart).

I am not this, even though I might dance like one:

Left is "Honey" Right is "Butterfly"

Media Poles

They have these things called Media Poles in Gangnam. You can take pictures, see an interactive map, search engine, get the news, other stuff for free. I wasn't kidding when I said Korea is the most digitally advanced country in the world.

See the light, one of the poles:

NB Review

NB (Noise Basement) is a hip hop club in Gangnam. We went on a Wednesday night because it would be 'less packed', uh still was super packed.

The people are ugly but the music is good (all American hiphop). Recommended if you want to dance but not for creeping.

I know I've been Koreanized because I got more excited when they played one DJ DOC song the entire night rather than when Luda came on.

Cafe Bar in 청담

Cheongdam is an area in Gangnam near Apkujeong. It has trendy restaurants and bars. Somehow I blacked out after this picture was taken. No bueno.

They called this a creme brulee. It had no creme nor bruleeing of any creme product.

My View Walking to the Subway

I have a great view depending on the pollution level of the day. Some days you can't see the mountains at all. I actually did not realize there were mountains beyond these buildings until my 4th day here because the smog is overwhelming. This morning I got lucky, pretty don't you think?
